In the end, the trophies don't matter, the plaques aren't important, the banners tend to fade, but your pride and passion that it took you to get them, that is what stays in your heart forever.

Let Us Play Catch Up!

A lot has happened since I have been on here!

First off, I started COLLEGE! I can’t believe I am already in my last semester of my freshman year…yikes! The time has flown…it has been a blast. I am thankful for the good times and the people I have met along the way. At Lake Land, I am a member of the Student Government Association and a judging team member.

In September I finished my last county fair and in October I went to my last American Royal as a junior swine exhibitor. I won my division at the county fair and took reserve grand duroc honors at the Royal. In November, I went to the North American International Livestock Expo without any pigs for the first time since I was 3! But, I did borrow Kabe Boysen’s barrow from Morning Sun, Iowa and was Reserve Division IV showman! I big “THANK YOU” to the Boysen family for letting me use their pig! This is the first time I did not make it to Denver for the National Western Stock Show…it killed me!!

I am off next week to the NJSA Southeast Regional in Perry, Georgia! I am excited to go back for the first time in two years. I’m not showing, but going to help as a junior board member. (I got to go to the Eastern Regional that way too!!) And in another month the NJSA Bootcamp is being held in Columbus at The Ohio State University!! I am doing a session on showmanship skills and I am super excited that it is in OHIO this year. :) I love being on junior board!

I have been able to drive back home for the Buckeye Show Circuit shows this year. I had so much fun at the first weekend! It was so cute to see all of the three and four year olds showing and thinking “that was me”. I am glad to help out an organization that has done so much for my showing career. I met three little girls that were adorable, at the end of the second day one of them came up and have me a hug and said “thank you”. It was the cutest thing ever and made every second of my time well worth it!

The hardest part about being away this time of year is not being able to see all of the new litters…but my mom is doing a good job of sending me pictures of EVERY litter so far.

Until next time….

Stay warm…..
Be safe….
Have fun…
Live it up..
& STAY AGRICULTURE PROUD.
